stop hiding

You help no one by hiding yourself away. You don’t help yourself and your opportunities, your self expression, your freedom to do things. You don’t help anyone who doesn’t like you, because you still exist as you are and cannot change in a way that makes you universally liked. You don’t help anyone who is jealous of you because you still hold what they’re jealous of and can’t influence their healing, progress or self-confidence. You don’t change people’s material reality by making yourself scarce.

But by being visible, you support yourself and your vision. You make yourself available to others who seek connection and have things in common with you. You serve as a good and bad example for others to learn from. You model a reality, an opinion, a kind of being and living that others can get inspired by.

When you make people happy, feel seen or understood, that’s good. When you make people angry, you might get them to think about why that is and remind them of their values. If your existence makes people feel inadequate, all you can hope for is that it motivates them to do better and try harder, or to accept themselves as is.
