positivity
I think many of us crave more positivity online. Uplifting stories, personal celebrations, kindness to oneself. Many even say that - that it’s too negative and they want more people talking about their passions, about something they enjoy, about a cute random thing etc. instead of just fights, critiques and news. But I struggle with adding positivity in public.
Not because there isn’t any in my life, there is a lot. But it seems like there’s more standards to fulfill when sharing positive things. Like, how do you share it without coming across as bragging or tonedeaf? How do you share it authentically? How do you share it in a way that doesn’t have this performative, fabricated, highlight-reel feeling to it that we know from influencers? How do you post it so it doesn’t seem like you want validation and attention for it?
Should I feel responsible for the reception like that at all, or do it regardless? Should I care if it makes someone jealous or sad?
