nothing respectful to say
I hate when people in a normal conversation change it in such a way that you can’t say something that won’t offend them. Things where you can’t (convincingly) lie, things where the answer is obvious, things where you cannot go back on your previous word.
Most irresponsible person you know asking you sadly: Am I irresponsible? etc
Like, cool, now I have to ignore that somehow and skip over it, or be forced to be an ass.
I know of a person that has a talent of always twisting things to be a negative thing targeted at them. For example, if I say “Wow, the losers working at the job center are doing this awful thing to unemployed people” all they’d say would be “Oh, so would I have been a loser too if I had started working there a few months ago?” and the reality is, they wouldn’t have worked there at all; they would have worked at a publisher that’s hired by the job center, and they would not have been a case worker for unemployed people either way.
I’ve ignored stupid shit like that for a while now, because what do you want me to say? Yes? Yes, because you are one regardless of where you work because of behavior just like this? Should I say no and pretend because we know each other that you’re the special exception? Is it that deep, when what I said was how unemployed people are abused by the workers at the job center again?
I don’t get it, why do you steer conversations in a way that could force people to insult you? Just so you can cry victim once more, I assume?
Will I fault a precariously poor person for working for Nestle in one of their thousands of subcontractors? No. Would I roast a well-off person in this western country thats voluntarily working an oppressive asshole job if they could choose of a lot of less oppressive ones? Yes. No matter if we know each other. The fuck?
