annoying
having an online presence is annoying occasionally
- posts getting dragged into some forum to be half-read and misunderstood - go embarrass yourself, you not reading it fully doesn’t change what i wrote but it’s still annoying to witness
- some people being jealous of your supposed success as if having a blog or viewers and RSS readers is in any way a notable or important accomplishment. it’s nice and sweet but definitely not that serious and nothing you should care about or want (and you’ll agree when you have it)
- people complaining about seeing you everywhere or trending too much or whatever as if it was in your control
- people thinking your post is accidentally this or that when that was the intentional core of it, or them repeating your point but making it seem like they deducted it. i wonder if this is a byproduct of media that has no subtext anymore and everything has to be clearly stated at all times for the audience that is listening to it as background noise
- you just wanna post something about your life and people think it’s an invitation to judge if it’s deep or creative enough for their entertainment purposes and what else you should have mentioned. you are reading my facebook post not my self-help book
- people trying to leech off of the attention you get by hijacking your posts for weird responses and posts and spin-offs. secondhand embarrassment and sighing
- having a lull in ideas and immediately thinking you fell off or others think you fell off; i don’t listen to this thought but it’s annoying to be aware of it anyway
- having to read every reaction or response or referer link because you’d rather be aware of any nasty shit in detail than not so at least you’re prepared
- argumentative, judgmental and infantilizing wall of text in your email by mr. well akshually
- some youtuber making a 1h reaction vid about your post like he’s obsessed. leftist destroyed with facts and logic etc.
- some people only boosting posts critical of you bc they think it’s been only praise for too long and they want some balance, to humble you, to take you down a notch
- you respond to someone’s post and they throw a fit and/or delete it bc they think you wield some sort of online power as if you had 500k on twitter instead of normal and respectful RSS readers who don’t care about harassing some rando
- different people messaging you over and over again how vulnerable and raw and real and intimate you are and you thought you were just normal and now it feels like when you look down on yourself in a dream and you have no pants on. like am i accidentally doing something super weird without realizing? am i the biggest loser on the beach, what is happening?
I also hate it when people are obviously inspired by a post about your personal experience and feelings and make a post about disagreeing but never link to you and just vague it. It has such a weird taste, like I didn’t say an opinion but what happened to me and how I felt, how are you disagreeing about my feelings? “I feel personally sick of screens and want more irl time” “Well I disagree because screen relationships are just as real” Baby all you’re sounding like is someone that is afraid that their e-dating experience isn’t comparable to real romance and might not “count” and you’re terrified that the Discord server of 200 people you post to don’t count as having friends and you might actually be friendless. That is all. It has nothing to do with my feelings, it just triggered your worries that my view could be somehow “real” or “correct” and it would change how supported and socially accepted you feel.
